It’s always an honor to be asked to flower friends’ weddings, but pretty damn nerve-wracking too. I’m sure my fellow florists will agree! Nevertheless, I was thrilled to create the bridal flowers and top table decor for Becci and James, friends we’ve made over the past year since becoming parents together. Aren’t they the cutest couple?
Becci’s ideas for flower colours evolved over time, starting with classic blush, white and sage green then she decided to switch to more vibrant shades of coral and pink to brighten what might have been a cold grey November day.
We agreed on Romantic Antique roses (a popular choice with Bloom brides last season!), alongside dreamy hot pink Pianos and pale peach Jana. Becci loves Eucalyptus so I included several varieties, alongside succulents, astilbe, hypericum and wax flower. I knew Becci and James were incorporating pine cones into their table decor, so at the last minute I decided to add teeny tiny pine cones to her bouquet to help tie the look together. It’s all about the sweet little details.
Gav and I celebrated with the couple at their Nuthurst Grange reception and it was such a fun evening, full of love, laughter and crazy dance moves. Scroll on to see snippets of my flowers for Becci and James’ special day, though the lens of the guys at Workhorse Weddings.
